Brotherly love.................

Preston was mowing the lawn in the backyard. Kirsten was mad because she wanted to mow the lawn. Preston was kind enough to let Kirsten help him mow part of the lawn in the backyard......and he actually enjoyed helping her.

Kirsten's first day of Kindergarten

Kirsten was so excited to be one of the big kids finally and start her first day of kindergarten. She really likes her teacher.....because she has red hair just like her.

Beach Camping Trip.......Pismo/Avila/Morro Bay

Before we headed back home we drove north to Morro Bay and had a picnic lunch by Morro Rock. It was really cool out but the kids enjoyed playing and collecting rocks and shells. We even saw some dolphins playing in the water just off the beach.

Mondel in front of Morro Rock
Kirsten getting ready to go kayaking with Mondel and Marin. It took at little convincing but she decided she would go. Mondel did a great job getting the kayaking out in the water and over the first couple of waves. BUT, there was one more wave and with Kirsten in the front of the kayak she got the brunt of the wave just as it was cresting. She was brave and let Mondel stay out for a little bit without getting upset.

Marin and Grandmama on the beach.

Mondel and I had a great time kayaking at Avila Beach. The beach wasn't too crowded and the kids had lots of fun playing in the sand, collecting rocks, playing in the waves, and eating. All the kids and grandma took a turn in the kayak. We only dumped the kayak a couple of times and we got to go out and paddle right next to the seals.

We let Marin and Preston take turns borrowing the wetsuit we rented for me......so it was a little big on them.

Kirsten and Grandmama (Grandma Sims)

Kirsten finally ran out of energy and she found a cozy spot on the beach to rest.

As we were driving around checking out spots to kayak we found "Dinosaur Park" in Pismo Beach. The girls had fun playing on all of the fun sea life.

Yes!.......that is our van parked on the beach.

Kirsten found this piece of kelp and it was her favorite friend for the day.

Preston, Marin, Kirsten, & Emma were nice enough to humor their mother so we could have this cute picture of the four of them together.

Marin thought we wanted a closeup, but it really does capture her fun personality.

The kids helped mommy build this REALLY cool castle!

We got the biggest kick out of the fact that we were able to drive our green van with a big orange kayak on top right on the BEACH!

Roaring River Falls /Grizzly Falls

Mondel and Kirsten taking a break and enjoying the scenery.

Marin and the kids were all having a good time exploring, but mommy wasn't feeling so well (a little car sick).

WATERFALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there weren't any big waterfalls like you find at Yosemite, but we were able to find a couple of smaller ones. Near the enterance to Crystal Cave we found a couple of waterfalls that we stopped at to take pictures and let the kids explore.
