Day Trip To The Snow

The girls helped me build a snowman.

Mondel holding Emma sliding down the hill. Kirsten sliding down too.
Mondel was the biggest kid out there. He was really having a great time!
Above: I caught Marin and Mondel going down the hill mid-slide.
Below: Mondel getting ready to go down with the kids.
Emma taking a break to eat some snow.
Emma learned quickly that the walk back up the hill is tiring. Kirsten offered to use her strong muscles to help pull Emma back up the hill part of the way.

It was an eventful drive to get to the snow park past Shaver Lake. Kirsten's ears were hurting, but she decided she didn't like gum all of a sudden. Emma got car sick and so did Kirsten. But, we managed to have a wonderful time. We took a picnic lunch. We had on warm snow clothes so no one could complain about being cold. The roads were clear and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Me like Cookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mondel said I had to be in the picture. He even rubbed flour on my face. I guess I didn't look like I had been working hard enough, so the flour was supposed to help make it look like I had been slaving away baking.
Emma was enjoying eating the cookie dough.
Kirsten was all about making silly faces. I don't know what was up with Emma's face.

Kirsten is holding a teapot cookie cutter. This cookie cutter was my Grandma Mary's. She loved teapots. So we made some cookies with this cookie cutter in honor of her.

Mondel was helping the girls with his least favorite thing. He loves to bake with the kids, but he DOESN'T enjoy making sugar cookies. He says they are too much work......and he is right!

A big thank you to Grandma Anderson for bringing
the stuff so we could make these
yummy sugar cookies!!!

Family Time at the Park

Kirsten playing with the air rocket
Emma setting up to launch the rocket.
Preston was launching the air rocket so high that I couldn't get it in the picture.
I actually caught Emma launching the rocket in mid- air.
Emma & Mondel
I was trying to capture Emma launching the glider, but I was a little late.

Marin waiting patiently for Emma to finish her turn.
Emma loved going down the slide just as much as she loved climbing up it.
Emma & Grandma Anderson flying the glider

Emma doing it all by herself!
Emma is becoming a pro at riding a big girl bike.
Kirsten & Mondel flying the glider

We all had a wonderful time playing at the park. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came for a visit just after Emma's birthday. The kids didn't have school so Mondel took the day off from work and we spent the day at the park. We brought the kids bikes, a glider, air rocket, and football and just relaxed. Grandma and Grandpa bought pizza and we had a fun afternoon.

Our Emma turned 3!

"Grandmama" (that is what the kids call my mom) made cupcakes for Emma to have on her birthday. We had a family birthday party for her 2 days later. I guess she is old enough now the understand what birthdays are all about because, the party was all about the PRESENTS! She wanted a tinkerbell birthday party. I couldn't figure out how to make a tinkerbell cake, so I just decorated a cake with flowers and added a little tinkerbell doll. She didn't care all she could talk about was the tinkerbell doll on the top of the cake.

Bike Ride on the Clovis Trail

Emma riding a big girl bike. Even Kirsten climbed the rock wall.

It was in the 40's today, but the kids and Mondel were excited to go on a bike ride. I ended up having fun too, even though I was cold.

Kirsten's favorite bike ride to go on is what she calls the "tunnels". She has a lot of fun going down the hill.

Emma was having fun in the bike trailer. She really enjoyed being the back seat driver.
Emma- Daddy go faster
Daddy-You said no go faster
Emma-Go faster daddy
Daddy-But we need to go faster to catch up to Preston
